Abstract

INDONESIA Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan Preview, Question and Answer, Reading and Summary (PQRS) dalam keterampilan membaca siswa dan untuk mengukur Peningkatan Keterampilan Membaca Kelas Satu MTsN 03 Mataram tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa melalui preview, tanya jawab, membaca dan rangkuman (PQRS). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini, penggunaan PQRS dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca berhasil; Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pretest, posttest pada siklus I dan posttest pada siklus II. Nilai pretest 65,40, posttest siklus I 71,89, sedangkan posttest siklus II 84,18. Hal itu juga diperkuat dengan hasil checklist observasi guru dan siswa. Pada siklus I hasil checklist observasi guru sebesar 67,85 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 85,71 sedangkan hasil checklist observasi siswa pada siklus I sebesar 73,21 dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 87,5. Kesimpulannya, kemampuan membaca siswa kelas 1 MTsN 03 Mataram meningkat melalui penerapan Preview, Question and Answer, Reading and Summary (PQRS). INGGRIS The objective of the study is to describe the implementation of Preview, Question and Answer, Reading and Summary (PQRS) in students reading skill and to measure the Improvement of Reading Skill of The First Grade of MTsN 03 Mataram in academic 2022/2023. The methodology of the research was classroom action research. While the techniques in collecting data were pre-test and post-test to find out the improving reading skill of students through preview, question and answer, reading and summary (PQRS). The data were analyzed by using quantitative descriptive technique. The result of this research, the use PQRS in teaching reading skill was successful; it was is seen by the result in pretest, posttest in cycle I and posttest in cycle II. The pretest was 65.40, post-test in cycle I was 71.89, while post-test in cycle II was 84.18. It was also strengthened by the results of teacher and students’ observation checklist. In cycle I the results of teacher observation checklist was 67.85 and improved in cycle II to 85.71 while the result of students’ observation checklist in cycle I was 73.21 and improved in cycle II was 87.5. In conclusion, students reading skill at The First Grade of MTsN 03 Mataram improved through the implementation of Preview, Question and Answer, Reading and Summary (PQRS).
