Abstract

INDONESIA Kajian ini menyangkut teknik merangkum suatu bacaan berdasarkan isi bacaan yang sebenarnya. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penguasaan siswa selama proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Teknik analisis datanya adalah uji normalitas dan uji hipotesis. Populasi sasaran penelitian ini adalah satu kelompok yaitu kelas 8² yang termasuk dalam kelas II MTsN 1 Mataram. Dalam memperoleh data, instrumen penelitian yang dikembangkan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes (pilihan ganda dan tes esai) dengan peneliti mengambil 32 siswa sebagai sampel. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari eksperimen adalah 77,84. Dalam pengujian hipotesis, peneliti menggunakan rumus uji-t. Peneliti menemukan t-hitung sebesar 3,225 dan t-tabel pada taraf signifikan 25% 2,040 (3,225 > 2,040), maka hipotesis diterima karena t-hitung lebih tinggi dari t-tabel. Meskipun teknik ini tidak begitu familiar bagi siswa dan sebagian besar dari mereka kurang memiliki motivasi dalam mempelajari penguasaan kosakata, namun terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari musik bahasa Inggris dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran kosakata terhadap siswa. INGGRIS This study concerns a technique of summarizing a passage based on the actual content of the passage. This aimed to investigate the students’ mastery during teaching and learning process in the class. The technique of data analysis is normality testing and hypothesis testing. The target population for this research is one group, namely class 8² which is included in the second grade in MTsN 1 Mataram. In getting data, the research instruments which was developed to collect the data was a test (multiple-choice and essay test) with the researcher took 32 students as the sample. The result of the research that was obtained from the experimental was 77.84. In hypothesis testing, the researcher used to the t-test formula. The researcher found that t-test was 3.225 and the t-table in significant rank was 25% 2.040 (3.225 > 2.040), so the hypothesis was accepted because the t-test was higher than the t-table. Although this technique is not so familiar to the students and most of them are lack motivation in learning vocabulary mastery, however, that there is a significant effect of English music in teaching and learning vocabulary to the students’.
