Abstract
INDONESIA Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas III SMPN 3 Narmada dipengaruhi oleh media audiovisual atau tidak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pre Eksperimental. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelas, yakni kelas IX A. Kelas ini berisi sekitar 30 siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes berbicara. Tes berbicara dibagi menjadi pre-test dan post-test. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pre-test siswa adalah 59.90 dan nilai post-test siswa adalah 76.93. Dari hasil analisis paired sample t-test diperoleh nilai sig 2-tailed adalah .000. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai tersebut lebih rendah dari taraf signifikasi 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Disepakati bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan atau antara pre-test dan post-test. Dengan demikian, hipotesis alternative (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis Null (Ho) ditolak. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan media audiovisual terhadap kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa. INGGRIS This research was conducted to know whether or not the use of audiovisual media is effective on the students' English speaking skills at SMPN 3 Narmada. This research was pre-experimental. The study employed one class, where the class used was class IX A. This class was about 30 students in it. The instrument in this research was speaking test. The speaking test was divided into pre-test and post-test. This research found that the pre-test mean score was 59.90 and the post-test was 76.93. From the analysis of paired sample t-test, the value of sig 2-tailed was .000. It indicated that the value was lower than the significance level 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It is agreed that there is a significance effect or between pre-test and post-test. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Null hypothesis(Ho) is rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is significant effect of using audiovisual media on the students’ English speaking skills.
