Abstract

INGGRIS The aims of this research were divided into three parts. Firstly, to know the language tyle that is used by the main character in the movie. Secondly, to find out the most dominant language style occurs in the utterances by the main character in the movie. A nd the last, to know what are the educational values found in the movie based on the utterances by the main character. In this research, the researcher applied qualitative approach with descriptive qualitative method. The data for this research was taken from the transcript of the movie and focused on the utterances of the main character. The data were collected through note taking. Then, it was analyzed with by using technique of data analysis based on Miles and Huberman which cover four steps: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. A s the result of this research, the researcher found 39 data which occurred with the language style. They are intimate style 13 utterances (33%), next followed by casual style 12 utterances (31%), formal style 9 utterances (23%), consultative style 5 utterances (13%). The most dominant language style used by the main character was Intimate style. Then, the educational values found in the utterances of the main character in the movie are honesty, bravery, confidence, discipline, purity, loyalty, love and affection, respect, and unselfish.
